(1). Amala

In my childhood days, my grandparents treat me and my siblings with amazing ‘Amala candies and Murabba’ – Because of which I sometimes have a fight with my elder sister. Those Amala candies and Murabba are the best and precious gift I was having from my grandparents.

Those days i still remembered – Me and my siblings Made two different team’s including some of our mutual friends of that time. I still remember the name of my team that’s “Mission Amgo 007”. We started searching for a glass jar that is full of Golden colored ‘Amala’ which is floated in golden sugar syrup. And whose so ever team wins will get extra murabba. yup missing those old days……
We ate Amala Murabba for that sweet and tangy flavor or sometimes as a snack or dessert. This all was when i was a kid and don’t even have thought of diet and super foods.
But now a days the diet trend of Kale and Quinoa is popular among Indians too but these products are not easily available in India. This doesn’t means that being an Indian we have spend our whole life in eating the unhealthy and omega-3 products. Here are some super food from my grandparents and parents time.

Millets are superior from rice and wheat because they require less chemical inputs. They are rich in micro nutrients and fibre. They are also a good for diabetics patients because of the ratio of glycemic index is less in Millets.
You can add millets like Kodo, Proso, Bajra and Foxtail millet in your diet. Or can have in salad.
